Kampala: The results for the 2022 Uganda Certificate of Education Examination (UCE) will be released today, Thursday, February 15, 2024.

This was confirmed by the Minister of State for Primary Education, Dr Moriku Kaducu on Wednesday.

The confirmation followed a meeting held between officials of the Ministry of Education and the Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB).

The results for at least 349,459 candidates who sat the exams last year will be released at the State Lodge, Nakasero, at 11 a.m.

This will be the second batch of the national examinations to be released by UNEB after the Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE), which were released last month.

The UNEB Executive Director, Mr. Dan Odongo, is expected to disclose the number of candidates who sat for the examination compared to those who registered for the same, as well as the general comparative performance and performance by gender.

Meanwhile, UNEB has faced challenges in making clear announcements on social media and its website regarding the release of UCE 2023 results. There has also been pressure for the immediate release of results from parents to adequately prepare and gather school fees.

UNEB has faced challenges in balancing stakeholder engagements and ensuring the timely release of results.

The national examination board has also released a tentative program for a special transition exam for S4 repeaters as Uganda transitions to competence-based assessment under the new lower secondary school curriculum.
