Kagadi: A tragic incident has shocked residents of Kyamagana Village in Kagadi District, where a 12-year-old boy reportedly caused the death of a 26-year-old woman during a confrontation over avocados.
The victim, identified as Bridget Abigaba, was allegedly trying to stop the boy from stealing avocados from her garden on Tuesday in Kyamagana LC1, Kyakabadiima Sub-county.
The boy, who had been grazing goats nearby, got into a physical altercation with her, which tragically ended in her death.
The child is now in custody at Kyakabadiima Police Post, and investigations into the circumstances of the incident are underway.
Mugisa Raise, the LC1 Chairperson for Kyamagana Village, confirmed the incident and stated that police have already launched an inquiry.
In the wake of the tragedy, Augustine Ngomeranze, the LC2 Chairperson for Kyakabadiima Sub-county, is calling on parents to be more vigilant and actively involved in guiding their children.
