Police speak out on road crash along Entebbe Road

The driver of the Isuzu bus is currently at large, and a police hunt is underway.

Kampala: At least six pupils have been injured in a serious road crash that occurred on Friday, August 23 at Nkumba Traffic Light along Entebbe Road.

Michael Kananura, the Traffic Police Spokesperson, says that the crash involved two motor vehicles: the UBA 839S Isuzu Bus and the UG 2402C Toyota Double Cabin.

Kananura explains that the Isuzu Bus, carrying pupils of Trust Infant Primary School in Nakaseke on a tour to Entebbe Zoo, failed to brake while approaching the Nkumba traffic lights from Kampala side.

‘’It collided with the Toyota Double Cabin from behind, causing the bus to overturn and injuring six pupils,’’ he added.

The traffic officer asserts that the victims have been rushed to Sub Medical Centre Nkumba for medical attention.

‘’The driver of the Isuzu bus is currently at large, and a police hunt is underway. Both vehicles have been towed to Nkumba Police Station for further investigation,’’ he stressed.

Kananura urges all motorists to ensure their vehicles are in good mechanical condition before embarking on journeys to prevent such accidents.
