Three cheat death in Pader motorcycle accident

All victims hail from the same locality in Gulu District.

Pader: Three people are currently nursing serious injuries following a motorcycle accident that occurred at Lawiyeadul along the Gulu-Kitgum highway in Pader District.

According to the Aswa East Regional Police Spokesperson, IP Oloya Joe, the accident involved a red Bajaj motorcycle with registration number UFW 220W.

The rider, who was traveling from Gulu towards Lacekocot, reportedly lost control of the motorcycle while attempting to avoid a pedestrian who was crossing the road.

Due to high speed, the motorcycle veered off the road and crashed, resulting in severe injuries to all on board.

The injured individuals have been identified as Opiyo Richard,32, the rider, a resident of Kulukeno Village, Pabo Parish, Owoo Sub-county, Gulu District, Oola Gambling, 25, passenger and Kibwota Denis, 24, passenger.

IP Oloya Joe attributed the accident to reckless riding, stressing the importance of adherence to traffic safety regulations.

Police personnel, including No. 37087 Corporal Candiru Molly and Police Constable Orongo Denis, visited the scene. The injured were rushed to Jafo Medical Center for treatment.

The motorcycle involved in the incident has been taken to Atanga Police Station, where it awaits inspection by the Inspector of Vehicles (IOV). Investigations into the incident are currently underway.
