Police arrest 13, impound 15 numberless motorcycles in Arua

She adds that some suspects among them were identified in other previous crimes.

Arua: Police in Arua City have arrested 13 suspects and impounded 15 numberless motorcycles.

They were arrested during an intelligence-led operation conducted on Tuesday, April 2, 2024, in the outskirts of the city.

The operation was conducted in the areas of Arua Primary School, Kirabu Cell, Terego Cell, Ediofe Area, Pajulu BAT Area, Ozua Cell, Oli D, and other areas.

Josephine Angucia, the West Nile Regional Police Spokesperson, explains that the 13 male suspects were arrested for being in possession of suspected stolen properties and being in possession of marijuana.

She adds that some suspects among them were identified in other previous crimes.

In addition, 15 numberless motorcycles were impounded and parked at the Arua Central Business Division station for further management.

Angucia asserts that operations on numberless motorcycles have been stepped up in the city because criminals use them to commit organized crimes like robberies, thefts, murders, and others.

‘’When investigations are over, the suspects will be produced in court to answer the charges of being in possession of suspected stolen properties and being in possession of marijuana,’’ she added.

The regional police mouthpiece states that these operations will continue until the city becomes free from organized crimes.
