Tukanisibwa suspects that his father may have committed suicide, although the cause of death has yet to be confirmed by authorities.

Kibaale: The remains of a 65-year-old man who went missing four months ago have been discovered in Kitooga village, Nyamarunda Sub County, in a case that has left the community in shock.

The deceased, identified as Vincent Ruhimbazi, had been reported missing since February 25, 2025. His remains were found on Wednesday in Omukyeya, a wooded area that separates Kitooga and Nyamugusa villages in Kabasekende Sub County.

According to his son, Samuel Tukanisibwa, the grim discovery was made while he was grazing animals in the area. He came across human remains, including a skull, bones, clothing, and a mobile phone all of which he identified as belonging to his father.

Tukanisibwa suspects that his father may have committed suicide, although the cause of death has yet to be confirmed by authorities.

The late Ruhimbazi reportedly had a long-standing domestic conflict with his wife, Farida Nyamihingo, 55. It is alleged that he had accused her of infidelity and claimed that her youngest child was fathered by another man.

Nyamihingo confirmed that she and Ruhimbazi had divorced four years ago following a series of disagreements.

She further stated that her own son, Tinti Niwahereza, was responsible for spreading rumors that the youngest child was not Ruhimbazi’s a claim Niwahereza has denied.

The deceased was last seen alive on February 25, 2025, drinking alcohol at a bar in Bujogoro trading center. After that, he vanished without a trace, and his whereabouts remained unknown until the recent discovery.

Local residents have expressed concern over the mysterious circumstances of Ruhimbazi’s death and are urging police to expedite investigations. At press time, the remains were at Bujogoro Police Station awaiting a postmortem examination.

This incident has sent shockwaves through the community, with many calling for justice and clarity regarding the true cause of Ruhimbazi’s death.
