Masindi District Woman MP launches re-election campaign
She confirmed that she is firmly in the race and committed to continuing her service.

Masindi: The Woman Member of Parliament for Masindi District, Dr. Florence Asiimwe, has officially launched her campaign to retain her parliamentary seat ahead of the upcoming elections.
The campaign kickoff took place at Masindi Stadium, drawing hundreds of supporters.
During the event, Dr. Asiimwe called on the people of Masindi to support her in securing the NRM party flag in the primaries set for July, which would allow her to compete in the general elections against candidates from other political parties and independents.
Dr. Asiimwe addressed speculation surrounding her political future, noting that some people doubted she would seek a second term. However, she confirmed that she is firmly in the race and committed to continuing her service.
Reflecting on her four-year term, she highlighted several achievements, including; securing a land title for the Masindi District Council for Women, purchasing an ambulance to facilitate transportation of patients referred to hospitals across the country and distributing 18 tents and 1,800 plastic chairs for community events and functions.
Gilbert Wanok, a mobilizer from Kirasa Cell who received a public address speaker on behalf of his community, thanked Dr. Asiimwe for her efforts to address grassroots concerns.
Abdalla Sserunkuma, Chairperson of the Masindi Business Community, encouraged all politicians to conduct respectful campaigns and avoid speaking negatively about their opponents.
Meanwhile, James Balikurungi and Solomon Asiimwe, LCIII Chairpersons of Labongo and Karujubu respectively, praised Dr. Asiimwe for being responsive to the needs of her constituents and for her consistent engagement with local issues.
