Kiryandongo district NRM chairman vows to fight corruption

“We must cleanse our ranks of corrupt practices and regain the trust of the people,” Ngompek stated.

Kiryandongo: Hon. Linos Ngompek, the newly elected Chairman of the National Resistance Movement (NRM) for Kiryandongo District, has vowed to stamp out corruption within the party.

Speaking after being elected unopposed, Ngompek pledged to promote transparency, openness, and integrity in all party operations.

“We must cleanse our ranks of corrupt practices and regain the trust of the people,” Ngompek stated, outlining his vision for a more accountable and united NRM in Kiryandongo.

Vice Chairman Baterengaya Fred called on party leaders to rally behind President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni and strengthen grassroots mobilization ahead of upcoming elections.

General Secretary Nyamukambi Alice Kasangaki noted a decline in NRM’s support in Kiryandongo dropping to 69% in the last election and emphasized the need for renewed efforts to engage the electorate.

The new district NRM leadership includes; Hon. Linos Ngompek, the chairperson, deputized by Baterengaya Fred, Nyamukambi Alice Kasangaki, the secretary, Kisembo Deograciaus, the publicity secretary and Pr. Debeta, the finance secretary.

The swearing-in ceremony, held at the RDC office boardroom in Kiryandongo on Saturday, May 31, 2025, brought together both incoming and outgoing sub-county party leaders.

Deputy RDC Akakwetereho Jonathan urged the new team to focus on fully implementing the NRM manifesto while firmly tackling corruption.

Outgoing chairman Basome Balikwa Fred congratulated the new leadership and called for unity, commitment, and renewed efforts to strengthen the party’s future.
