Celebrated Journalist Bwayo declares bid for Namisindwa LCV Chairperson Seat

Namisindwa: Prominent journalist and youth leader Bwayo Emma has officially entered the race for LCV Chairperson of Namisindwa District, promising a new era of transparent leadership and community-centered governance.

Currently the Head of Marketing and Business Development at Elgon FM in Mbale and a well-known political talk show host, Bwayo also serves as the Male Youth Councilor for Namisindwa District under the NRM ticket.

His declaration has energized political discussions across the district, with many lauding his leadership track record and grassroots experience.

Speaking to media on Monday, Bwayo announced his candidacy, stating: “It’s time to reshape the image of Namisindwa. I’m offering myself for leadership to enhance service delivery and restore confidence in public administration.”

Bwayo pledged to implement government programs efficiently, enforce zero tolerance for corruption and laxity, promote transparency and accountability in district governance, drive local economic development, with a focus on attracting investment, job creation, and boosting household incomes.

He also vowed to improve the effectiveness and integrity of public servants, ensuring they uphold their duty to serve the people.

Bwayo brings over a decade of combined experience in media and leadership. He began his journalism career in 2013 with Voice of Bugisu and joined Elgon FM in 2015, where he remains a prominent voice.

His political journey began in 2015, when he was elected Youth Chairperson for Namabya Sub-county at age 23. In 2021, he secured a seat as the Male Youth Councilor for the district.

Beyond local politics, Bwayo has held influential roles at cultural, national, and international levels, including Youth Minister for Cooperatives and Marketing, Bamasaaba Cultural Institution (2019), Speaker of Eastern Uganda Youth Parliament and Board Member at European Union Youth Sounding Board

Bwayo will face off with incumbent LCV Chairperson Jackson Wakweika and retired medic Situma Mango in what is expected to be a closely contested three-man race. Observers anticipate an energized campaign season, with service delivery, youth empowerment, and good governance at the center of debate.
