Arua: The Member of Parliament for Vurra County, Yovan Adriko, has condemned the brutal killing of Dr. Paul Bishop Drileba, the acting Arua District Health Officer.

The health official was murdered in a mob attack on Saturday in Oyeku village, Ajia sub-county, Arua district.

Dr. Drileba had gone to the area with his lawyer and surveyor to survey a piece of land he had purchased, measuring 80 acres.

He further appealed to local leaders to educate the community on land laws to prevent such violence from occurring in the future.

The MP highlighted the immense loss that Dr. Drileba’s death represents to the district, emphasizing that his untimely passing would create a significant gap in the local health sector, hampering service delivery for the foreseeable future.

The police have assured the public of their commitment to justice and are actively investigating the incident noting that so far, two individuals have been arrested in connection with the murder and are assisting in the ongoing investigation.

Dr. Drileba is set to be laid to rest on Wednesday at his ancestral home in Ndrivu village, Kuluva parish.
