Angalia replaces Tumusiime as Kikuube RDC

Kikuube: The Office of the President has appointed Godwin Angalia Kasigwa, a native of Buliisa District, as the new Resident District Commissioner (RDC) for Kikuube District.

Angalia has been transferred from Terego District, replacing Amlan Tumusiime, who resigned to join active politics.

The official handover took place on Monday July 28, 2025, with district political and security leaders welcoming Angalia into his new role.

In his address, Angalia expressed heartfelt appreciation to His Excellency President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni and officials at the Office of the President for the confidence placed in him.

He also thanked Kikuube District leadership for their warm reception and called for enhanced teamwork across all government sectors.

He encouraged political aspirants and community leaders to promote peace, unity, and prosperity, stressing that collective efforts are crucial for achieving shared development goals.

As part of his new assignment, President Museveni has tasked RDC Angalia with the following eliminating divisive and destructive politics in Kikuube, safeguarding Bugoma Forest from encroachment, curtailing illegal fishing activities and protecting the strategic interests of the state in the oil and gas sector.

Widely known by the nickname “Gavumenti”, Angalia brings extensive experience in refugee management, forest conservation, and security operations. He is a trained government operative with a strong public service record, having previously served as Resident City Commissioner (RCC), Fort Portal City, RDC, Kibaale District and RDC for Terego District.

A dedicated and principled cadre of the National Resistance Movement (NRM), Angalia is widely respected for his integrity, discipline, and unwavering dedication to national service.
