Two arrested over disappearance of an Egyptian national in eastern Uganda

He was last seen with his two friends at his residence on February 23, 2024, in the evening.

Soroti: Police in Soroti City West on Monday arrested two people to aid in investigations into the disappearance of an Egyptian national, Ahmed Zinhom Ibrahim Selim.

Zinhom was last seen with his two friends at his residence on February 23, 2024, in the evening.

The suspects arrested are Muhammed Nabil Ali, who visited and was last seen with the victim on the night of the disappearance, and Mark Kisolo, an employee of the victim who accessed the house on the night and after the disappearance.

Oscar Greggory Ageca, the East Kyoga police spokesperson, explains that the arrested suspects are persons of interest.

According to preliminary findings, the Egyptian national disappeared on Saturday, February 24, 2024. Mark Kisolo, an employee of the victim, went to his place but instead got the door padlocked, and a key was placed next to the window, which he used to open the door and found no one.

The police officer said a case of disappearance was registered at Soroti City East Division, vide SD Ref 02/25/02/2024, who also recovered the trouser the victim was dressed in on the night he was last seen.
