Hoima: The Hoima city woman member of parliament, Asinansi Nyakato, has implored journalists in Hoima to promote the planting of trees in order to overcome the problems of climate change.

The legislature made the remarks during the media summit of journalists in Hoima City while at the Millennium Hotel in Bujumbura early this week.

Nyakato said the media has the potential to mobilize citizens to plant trees, which will be vital in controlling climate change brought on by oil drilling, which is already taking place in the region.

While speaking at the same function, Julius Ahuura, who was the chief guest, advised journalists to always add value to themselves for better opportunities.

Rev. Fr. Patrick Museveni, the editorial director of the diocese’s communication department, revealed the church intends to use media in a good way so as to spread the gospel of the Lord and help their followers develop.
