TERRIBLE! Man murders son in Masindi
The child’s body was taken to Masindi Hospital Mortuary for postmortem examination.

Masindi: Grief and shock gripped residents of Nyangahya Cell in Central Division, Masindi Municipality, after a man allegedly killed his 7-year-old son in a disturbing act of domestic violence.
The victim, identified only as Hakim, was reportedly beaten by his father, Dominic Ismael, a casual labourer, on Wednesday around 3 p.m. Despite efforts by neighbors to rush the boy to the hospital, he died on the way.
Eyewitness Alfred Ajitu stated that an alarm was raised as Dominic was seen attacking the child. The suspect was apprehended while attempting to flee the scene.
According to Buruhani Nassur, the suspect’s brother, Dominic had previously left their family home due to erratic behavior and a tendency toward conflict. Community leaders confirmed that he was unknown to many in the area, having not registered with local authorities.
Elizabeth Kakoko, the LC1 Chairperson of Nyangahya Cell, condemned the act and urged parents to discipline children without resorting to violence. She also called on landlords to register tenants with local councils to improve community safety.
Cleophus Isingoma, the area’s vice chairperson, revealed that Hakim had been living with his father since the mother left the household. A previous domestic violence case had been reported but resolved through police-mediated reconciliation. Isingoma further noted that Dominic was a known drug addict and community menace.
Proscovia Karungi and Marion Kiiza, appealed to mothers facing domestic violence to leave abusive homes with their children to prevent such tragedies.
Joseph Kariwani, Officer in Charge of CID at Masindi Central Police Station, confirmed Dominic’s arrest and said he is in custody to assist in investigations. Kariwani strongly urged the public to report domestic violence cases to the police or family protection units for timely intervention.
The child’s body was taken to Masindi Hospital Mortuary for postmortem examination.
