Suspected criminals netted in Arua City crackdown

Arua: Police in Arua City have netted suspected criminals during an intelligence-led operation that was conducted in the Central Business Division.

The operation was conducted with the help of local leaders in the areas of Jiako cell, Kirabu cell, Jasindo cell, Ozua cell, Zebra corner cell, Air Japan, Oli A, B, C, and D.

Josephine Angucia, the West Nile Regional Police Spokesperson, narrated that the operation that was conducted on Thursday, May 9, 2024, saw 18 notoriously known male suspects who have been allegedly terrorizing and robbing the communities in the city arrested.

She identified the suspects as Alex Tasil, Onduase Patrick, Mubaraka Aluma, Agiyo Ivan, Hassan Ali, Nyakuta Andrew, Anguzu James, Mubaraka Yusuf, Fahad Ismail, Wani Dan, Adriko Henry, Twaliu Ahmed, Ayub Twaha, Andama Moris, Faraj Rashid, Abdul Salim Hussein, Mohamed Rashid, and Abdul Wahabu.

The suspects are detained in custody at Arua City Central Division pending investigations on various charges, including aggravated robberies.

Angucia asserted that when investigations are over, they will be produced in courts of law to answer the various charges preferred against them.

The regional police mouthpiece vowed that these intelligence-led operations will continue until notorious criminals are wiped out of Arua City.
