Bukedea: The speaker of parliament Annet Among Anita who doubles as Bukedea woman member of parliament has offered free delivery services to Bukedea mothers in the district.

While touring the hospital on 14th, Jan 2024 yesterday in Bukedea Sub County, the parliament Speaker Annet Anita Among together with the hospital director said the facility is now ready to offer treatment for both outpatients and inpatients.

“Now the hospital is ready to open, deliveries of mothers will be at a free cost and receive free maternal services”, said Speaker Among.

Speaker Among also added that other specialized healthcare should be at a highly subsidized price.

“This hospital is a private hospital but lets not over charge people money, these are our voters and they need our services” added by Among.

However, the hospital is fully opened today Monday 15th, Jan 2024 for the first patient.

“Starting from Monday 15th, Jan 2024 all normal deliveries will be free of charge, our women will also receive free mother  kits, the hospital administration will give us the full details of the mothers delivered in a month and we shall pay the money to the hospital account”, said Anita.

Eng Moses Magogo, the Budiope East county Member of Parliament who is also one of the hospital administrators while meeting the newly recruited healthcare professionals urged doctors to do their work diligently and offer good care services to the community.

Ms. Norah Anyakoit, the Bukedea deputy chief administrative officer told this publication that the health care gap will now be bridged, especially the referral cases.

“As a district we have been suffering most especially the referral cases, our mothers have been suffering to be referred in nearby hospitals of Mbale and sometimes Kumi, so we believe that challenge is now fully addressed”, said Ms Anyakoit.
