SAD! Landslide kills three family members in Kasese

Kasese: The landslide this evening killed three people from the same family in Mapata village, Katooke Parish in Bugoye Sub-county, Kasese district.

The area sub-county chairperson, Mr. James Katalikawa Muthulhanda, has confirmed the incident and identified the deceased as Edmon Bwambale, his wife, and their child.

According to him, the incident followed a heavy downpour that started at around 2:00 p.m. and lasted for more than an hour.

Mr. Katalikawa also reveals that at least six houses belonging to Mr. Jovenal Kule, one Ngangasi, Cosmus Baluku, and Augustine Masereka, among others, have been destroyed beyond repair.

Mr. Alfred Bwambale, the Mapata Village Chairperson, says a good number of crop gardens have equally been destroyed. He is skeptical that the affected families might be hit by hunger.

He has since called for aid from non-governmental organizations and the government for the benefit of the affected families.
