Pastor dies mysteriously in Masindi

In the process, Owobugabe became unconscious and was rushed to Kitara Medical Centre, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

Masindi: Christians and residents of Masindi district were left in grief and shock on Monday after a renowned pastor of Beloved Church Kijuura, Gerald Wobugabe, mid-60’s, commonly known as ‘Kagaali Ka Yesu’, died in a mysterious way.

Pastor Barry Noble, the Coordinator of Beloved Church Ministries Western Region Upper, told this publication that after attending the preparatory introduction meeting for the deceased’s daughter, they received a phone call from one of the preachers from Kampala who wanted to meet them.

Barry asserted that as they were heading for the second meeting, the deceased started feeling unwell, and he told him to stop riding the motorcycle and pray for him.

‘’After attending a preparatory meeting for his daughter at my place, we received a phone call from one of the preachers from Kampala that he wanted to meet us. As we were heading for that meeting, he told me that he was feeling unwell and we had to stop.’’

In the process, Owobugabe became unconscious and was rushed to Kitara Medical Centre, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

Joshua Kagaali, the deceased’s son, was shocked to hear that his father has died since he left home without any health complications.

Kagaali, however, disclosed that his father has been feeling unwell and was recently evacuated to Kampala for medication.

‘’I was shocked to hear that my dad has died because he left home without any health complications; however, recently we rushed him to Kampala when he was complaining of chest pain.’’

Robert Rwomushana Kibuuka, the pastor of Masindi Miracle Centre Church, eulogized the deceased as a faithful, committed, and hardworking preacher who he worked with for the last 30 years.

Rwomushana said it was a shock to hear that their colleague has died since he didn’t have any health complications at the time of his demise.

By the time we filed this story, the lifeless body of Gerald Wobugabe was still at the Masindi Kitara Medical Centre mortuary, pending a postmortem.
