Boss kills employee over alleged theft

The hunt for the suspect is ongoing. 

Luwero: Police in Luwero district are investigating a case of murder by torture that happened in Kiyenje Village, Luwero Town Council.

The incident happened on Saturday, March 23, 2024, at around 2 p.m.

The deceased has been identified as Patrick Kibirige, 15, a resident of Kito Nakikota Luwero Town Council.

Sam Twiineamazima, the Savannah Regional Police Spokesperson, explains that Kiwanuka Senkumba, alias Kiwa, who does outside catering at different functions, suspected the deceased, his casual worker, to have stolen his 150,000 shillings.

According to Twiineamazima, Senkumba allegedly tortured the latecomer by beating him before rushing and dumping him at Luwero Hospital, where he was announced dead.

‘’After the incident, the suspect also informed the mother of the deceased to go and take care of her son, whom he said was just sick and decided to run away.’’

The Savannah regional police mouthpiece asserted that upon police receiving the information, they responded in time, visited the scene, and documented it by a team of SOCO and homicide. A case of murder was registered.

Twiineamazima added that relevant statements were recorded by relevant witnesses who visited the Luwero Hospital, and some exhibits were recovered from the scene as the hunt for the suspect is ongoing.
