Masindi: Another sex worker has died in Masindi town, Masindi district, less than a month after the first one died at the same lodge.

The deceased, whose identity could not be readily obtained, was found lying dead in her bed Saturday morning at Desert Lodge, located along Ssebagala Street.

Other sex workers who operate from the same lodge deserted the place after learning of the death of their colleague.

However, the people who were at the scene told this publication that the deceased had just started operating from the place.

The residents suspect the deceased could have died from the substances that the prostitutes take to boost their energy levels.

They expressed concern that the place is becoming a death spot in the town, and they called for its closure to prevent similar occurrences again.

The deceased’s body was still lying in the room, as police had not reached the scene at the time of filing this story.

The District Police Commander, Jacob Chepskor, expressed ignorance about the matter when contacted for a comment.

On January 22, 2024, Sarah Birungi, a sex worker, was also found dead at the same place by her colleagues, who alerted the police.
