Man dies after falling into fire while smoking tobacco in Kagadi

Kagadi: A 35-year-old man has died after he reportedly fell into a fire he had lit while smoking tobacco in Kagadi District.

The deceased has been identified as Asiimwe Apollo, a resident of Kisakuru Village in Pacwa Sub-county.

According to local leaders, the incident occurred on Wednesday but was only discovered on Thursday morning when Asiimwe’s wife found his body near the fire.

Tukwasibwe George, a local leader, confirmed the incident, saying residents were shocked by the tragic circumstances surrounding Asiimwe’s death.

“The community was shocked to learn that Asiimwe had died after reportedly falling into the fire he was using while smoking tobacco. It is a very unfortunate incident,” Tukwasibwe said.

Muhangi Justus, the Kyakabanda Parish Councillor, also expressed sadness over the incident, describing the deceased as a disciplined and responsible member of the community.

“Asiimwe was a responsible and disciplined person. His death is a great loss to the village, and we extend our condolences to his family,” Muhangi said.

Preliminary information indicates that Asiimwe may have accidentally fallen into the fire while smoking tobacco. Authorities are expected to investigate the exact circumstances surrounding the incident.
