Two found dead in suspected Kagadi night attacks

Mumbere urged residents to avoid moving at night and called on bar owners to regulate their operating hours to enhance safety.

Kagadi: Residents of Kagadi District have been left in shock following the discovery of two men who were killed under unclear circumstances in separate incidents.

In Kagadi Town Council, a man identified as Emmanuel, a casual worker and resident of Kenga Village in Kagadi Sub-county, was found dead in Kiryane Cell with visible injuries on his head and body.

Local leaders and residents suspect he may have been attacked by thieves during the night.

The LC1 Chairperson of the area, Charles Kagadisa, said he was alerted by residents and immediately reported the matter to police. He described the deceased as a humble person despite his mental condition and strongly condemned the killing.

Community members believe the attackers could be linked to suspected thieves who reportedly raided the area the previous night. They have since called for improved night security.

Police visited the scene and transported the body for a postmortem as investigations continue.

In a separate incident in Busungubwa Village, Galibokela Sub-county, a man in his 30s identified as Bizimungu, also known as Bizzi, was found murdered and his body dumped at a trading centre with severe injuries.

LC1 Chairperson Mumbere Muhamudu said the deceased had reportedly borrowed money from a SACCO and may have been attacked following a disagreement at a local bar while returning home.

During a joint search, police and residents recovered blood-stained clothes believed to belong to a suspect identified as Kabaya, who is currently on the run. Another suspect has been arrested to assist with investigations.

Mumbere urged residents to avoid moving at night and called on bar owners to regulate their operating hours to enhance safety.

Police transported the body to Kagadi General Hospital mortuary as investigations into both incidents continue.
