Kiryandongo: Over the weekend, Hon. Karubanga Jacob Ateenyi, the Member of Parliament for Kibanda South, awarded scholastic materials to the best-performing UCE students from government schools in the constituency.
The award ceremony, held at Kigumba Community Seed Secondary School, aimed to motivate students to excel academically and pursue their educational goals.
The event was graced by several dignitaries, including Mrs. Bingi Katusiime Abwooli, Mayor of Kigumba Town Council, Hon. Watumbe Jimmy Michael, LC 3 Chairman of Mboira Subcounty, and LC 3 Chairman Osaja Peter, Masindi Port Subcounty
Students from various schools, including Masindi Port Secondary School, Mboira Seed School, Kigumba Town Community Seed School, and Kigumba SS, received awards such as books, beddings, and mattresses.
Hon. Karubanga shared his personal journey of overcoming challenges to access education, highlighting the importance of hard work and determination.
“I have decided to award these items to motivate students to work hard and pursue their educational goals,” he said.
