Thugs steal 21 Butiaba Seed Secondary School computers

The guards now face charges related to breaking into the store and neglect of duty.

Buliisa: Police in Buliisa district are investigating circumstances under which unknown thieves broke into the computer lab for Butiaba Seed Secondary School and made off with 21 computers.

Mr. Muponda Samuel, the school head teacher told this publication on Monday April 29, 2024 that  he got the information on Thursday April 25, 2024 morning at around 6am after receiving a phone call from one of the night watchman identified as Rwamukaga Godfrey alerting him about the theft of 21 computers from the school.

The head teacher said that he advised the watchman to report the matter to Walukuba Police Post.

According to Rwamukaga when it started raining, the they went into one of the class rooms and slept thus prompted the unknown thugs who broke into the computer lab and managed to walk away with computers.

Julius Allan Hakiza, the Albertine Regional Police Spokesperson, confirmed the development and said they have apprehended two security guards, Rwamukaga Godfrey, aged 57 and Bigirwenkya Alfred aged38, who were on duty at the school during that fateful night.

The regional police mouthpiece said these guards now face charges related to breaking into the store and neglect of duty.
