SAD! Three perish in Masindi road accident

Masindi: Three people have died and one remains in critical condition following a tragic road accident that occurred early Thursday morning along the Masindi–Kafu road.
The accident took place at approximately 5:00 AM at Nyabinyira Cell, Bigando Ward in Kigulya Division, Masindi Municipality.
The deceased have been identified as Fenda Ahisibwe ,30, Olivia Tumwesigye, and a woman only known as Rose. A fourth victim, identified as Brenda, is currently admitted in critical condition at Masindi Hospital and is expected to be referred to Hoima Regional Referral Hospital for specialized care.
According to Eriya Tumusiime, Ahisibwe’s younger brother, the four victims were en route to KisalIzi Market along the Masindi–Hoima road when their motorcycle collided head-on with a vehicle.
“Ahisibwe told me last evening that he would leave early in the morning for the market,” Tumusiime said, expressing shock at the incident.
Godfrey Wobusobozi, a resident of Kimengo Sub-county, confirmed that the victims were known to the community and were traveling to the market to trade.
The Albertine Regional Police Spokesperson, Julius Allan Hakiza, stated that the accident involved a motorcycle with registration number UMA 799BD and a vehicle registered as UBE 172F, driven by Robinah Birungi.
Hakiza confirmed that two of the victims died on the spot, while the third succumbed to injuries upon arrival at the hospital.
Both the motorcycle and the vehicle have been impounded and taken to Masindi Central Police Station for inspection by the Inspectorate of Vehicles (IOV) as investigations into the exact cause of the collision continue.
