SAD! Ten feared dead, dozens injured in Mubende bus accident
Authorities have launched an investigation into the incident.
Mubende: Easter Sunday turned tragic after a horrific road accident along the Mubende–Fort Portal road reportedly claimed the lives of 10 people and left dozens critically injured.
The accident occurred on Sunday, April 20, 2025, at around 3 PM, involving a Poko Poko Company bus, registration number UBR 796N, carrying more than 50 passengers.
According to eyewitnesses, the bus suffered a front tyre burst, causing it to veer off the road and overturn.
The impact resulted in multiple fatalities at the scene, while many survivors sustained serious injuries and were rushed to Mubende Regional Referral Hospital for emergency treatment.
Police and rescue teams were still on site by the time of reporting, working to retrieve bodies and assist survivors.
