Kitgum hospital receives third quarter medical supplies

Kitgum: Kitgum General Hospital has received a major boost in its healthcare delivery capacity following the arrival of assorted medical supplies for the third quarter of the current financial year.

The consignment, valued at UGX 60,542,732, was delivered over the weekend and includes critical items such as intravenous fluids, Ready-to-Use Therapeutic Food (RUTF) for malnutrition treatment, assorted syringes, detergents (Jik and liquid soap), and formalin.

Speaking during the handover, Mr. Ojok Thomas, the Senior Hospital Administrator, emphasized the importance of the supplies in meeting the hospital’s growing demands.

“This consignment will go a long way in addressing some of our pressing medical needs, especially in managing malnutrition and maintaining sanitation standards,” he said.

The delivery was officially witnessed by representatives from the Kitgum District LCV Chairperson’s office, the Resident District Commissioner, the District Internal Security Officer, and the hospital’s management team.

Mr. Ojok further revealed that the hospital is expecting another routine bimonthly delivery of essential medicines and health supplies for Cycle 5 in the coming week, which will further reinforce their service delivery.
