Hoima: Hoima Catholic Diocese, through its department of communication, donated over the weekend different items to needy patients at Hoima Regional Referral Hospital.
The donation is part of the activities the church has done during social communications week.
Items donated included soap, sugar, clothes, and others.
Father Patrick Museveni, the editorial director of the diocese’s communication department, said the donation was intended to help the hospital in its work of caring for our bodies.
Evelyn Acayo, the principal nursing officer at the Hoima regional referral hospital who received the items on behalf of the hospital, said the hospital has many needy patients who will benefit from the donated items.
Acayo applauded the efforts of Hoima diocese to help needy patients but also revealed the hospital is facing a lot of challenges that are crippling service delivery.
Hoima regional referral hospital registers between 700 and 1000 patients on a daily basis, according to hospital records.
