From Grass to Grace: Mungufeni Foundation unveils 5-year strategic plan

“There is a need for behavior change and to listen to the needy so that they can be helped. The rewards may be invisible, but they are long-lasting.”

Arua: The Mungufeni Foundation, an indigenous, faith-based, non-profit organization, has officially launched its five-year strategic plan for 2025–2030.

The unveiling ceremony took place recently at Arua City headquarters and was attended by key stakeholders, local leaders, and development partners.

Prepared by Strategic Planning Consultant Mr. Jeremy Rwothomio, the comprehensive plan sets out an ambitious yet practical roadmap to transform lives through integrated humanitarian and sustainable development initiatives.

The strategy aims to impact over 24,700 people, directly enabling 10,000 individuals to meet essential needs in health, education, and food security.

Guided by global development frameworks, the strategic plan prioritizes local ownership, resilient systems, and equitable access to services. Special attention will be given to vulnerable groups, with 60% of the target beneficiaries being women, 50% youth, and 5% people with disabilities.

Addressing West Nile’s Pressing Challenges

The plan comes in response to growing socio-economic challenges faced by communities in the West Nile sub-region, including; high poverty and food insecurity, limited access to quality education and healthcare, rising youth unemployment and Gender-based violence.

Declining donor funding, threatening the sustainability of local interventions

To tackle these challenges, the foundation will focus on the following strategic objectives, enhancing food and income security for vulnerable households, improving inclusive access to quality education, increasing health and protection services for marginalized communities, strengthening youth employability and entrepreneurship, promoting financial inclusion and women’s economic empowerment, reducing vulnerability to gender-based violence and building institutional capacity for effective program delivery.
