Booma FC humble Kataka, terrorize their qualification hopes

Booma’s next match will be at home in Masindi Municipal Stadium against the Young Elephants from West Nile on May 26, 2024.

Masindi: Booma FC secured a crucial 1-0 victory against Kataka FC during the Betpawa FUFA Big League match day 28. This result has significant implications for Kataka’s qualification hopes for the country’s top league.

The game took place at Masindi Stadium on Sunday evening. Kataka FC, based in Mbale, entered the match with a chance to improve their qualification prospects.

However, their loss to Booma FC meant they remained in the 4th position with 42 points, trailing 3rd-placed rivals Mbale Heroes by 4 points.

Booma FC’s midfielder Arnold Serujongi scored the decisive late penalty goal, securing the narrow victory.

Lukyamuzi Michael Skillz, the former NEC FC tactician, celebrated his second victory in three games since taking over as head coach at Booma FC. He replaced former coach Mark Twinamatsiko, whose contract was terminated last month.

Booma FC currently sits in the 6th position with 39 points from 25 games. Although they are 7 points away from the qualification spot, they have officially secured their place in the big league for next season.

Booma’s next match will be at home in Masindi Municipal Stadium against the Young Elephants from West Nile on May 26, 2024. They will then conclude the season with an away game against the Kigezi Home Boys in Kabaale on June 2, 2024.

Other results from match day 28 include Mbale Heroes defeating Kyetume FC 1-0, Cavalry drawing 0-0 with Kiyinda Boys, Police beating Onduparaka 2-1, Lugazi winning 4-1 against Young Elephants, and Kaaro Karungi prevailing 5-1 over Jinja North United FC.
