Christians urged to love one another as they love God

He encouraged Christians to reflect their faith through love and respect for all people, not just those within their religious community.

Kitgum: Monsignor Rev. Fr. Komakech Christopher, the Parish Priest of Christ the King Church and the Episcopal Vicar of Kitgum Vicariate, has called on Christians to love one another in the same way they love God. His message came during the Morning Mass on Thursday, 9th January 2025.

Rev. Fr. Komakech emphasized that true love for God is demonstrated by loving one’s fellow human beings, as they are all created by God. He stated that anyone who claims to love God must show this love through their actions toward others, underscoring that Christians are called to live out their faith in their relationships with others.

Further, Rev. Fr. Komakech encouraged believers to live in God’s presence, noting that those who do so are blessed. He reminded the congregation that a person who loves and believes in God will never turn against their fellow brothers and sisters.

He encouraged Christians to reflect their faith through love and respect for all people, not just those within their religious community.

The priest also urged Christians to extend compassion to the poor and disadvantaged, stressing the importance of offering them hope and embodying God’s love. This, he said, should be the calling of every believer, regardless of their religious background.

In addition, Rev. Fr. Komakech took the opportunity to remember the life of the late Severino Oguti of Akara, Mucwini, who passed away 26 years ago on 9th January 1999 at St. Joseph Hospital, Kitgum.
