Busoga leaders commended for cooperation with police

With the festive season in full swing, the police are urging the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity.

Busoga: The Regional Police Commander for Busoga North, SSP Lwamusayi Frantile, has praised local leaders for their continued support and cooperation with the police, particularly during the festive season.

Speaking after a series of successful community policing engagements across Kamuli, Kaliro, Buyende, and Luuka districts, SSP Lwamusayi emphasized the importance of the collaboration in enhancing community safety.

The community policing efforts, which took place in November and December, included sensitization sessions at various sub-county headquarters and villages.

These sessions focused on fostering stronger relationships between the police and the public, with key topics such as crime prevention, child protection, and the role of the community in policing discussed.

Local leaders, including LC III chairpersons, councillors, and LC II and LC I chairpersons, worked closely with police officers to bridge the gap between law enforcement and the community.

SSP Lwamusayi praised the initiative, noting that the close interaction between police and local leaders has contributed to a reduction in crime and promoted people-centered policing. “This has made policing easier during the festive season,” he said.
