Poor officiating allegation mounts as Nebbi Central FC beats Paidha United SC
Out of the last five meetings between the two teams, Nebbi Central has now won three, with Paidha United winning only once and the other match ending in a draw.
Nebbi: Nebbi Central FC secured a crucial 2-1 victory over Paidha United SC at Luo Grounds on Sunday afternoon in a high-stakes West Nile regional league clash.
Nebbi Central’s David Ocircan, also known as “Ganacho,” was the star of the match, scoring the opening goal just a minute into the game with a powerful volley that electrified the packed stadium. Despite Paidha United’s dominance in midfield, Nebbi Central’s defense proved resilient, holding a 1-0 lead at halftime.
Shortly after the break, Ocircan doubled the lead with another impressive strike from outside the box, putting Paidha United on the back foot. Paidha United’s winger, Ronald Ogencan, eventually managed to pull one back, reviving hope for the visitors in a tense second half.
However, an earlier goal by Ogencan was controversially ruled offside, prompting frustration among Paidha United fans and officials, who alleged officiating bias.
The game was briefly halted when one of Paidha United’s media team members was sent off amid the escalating officiating complaints. Security was later deployed to restore order, while match officials were unavailable for comment as they were escorted from the grounds.
The win was a strong comeback for Nebbi Central, who were looking to bounce back from a previous 1-0 loss to Padea Rising Stars. Out of the last five meetings between the two teams, Nebbi Central has now won three, with Paidha United winning only once and the other match ending in a draw.
