Fort Portal Regional Referral Hospital receives medical supplies worth Shs12mln

Fort Portal: Stanbic Bank Uganda has donated essential medical supplies worth UGX 12 million to Fort Portal Regional Referral Hospital to enhance healthcare services in western Uganda.
The donation includes a 10,000-liter water tank to support the hospital’s increasing patient load and five wheelchairs for better mobility within the facility.
Peace Nyangoma, the bank’s Customer Experience Manager, stated that the items were chosen after thorough research to meet the hospital’s critical needs. She emphasized the bank’s commitment to supporting quality healthcare as a fundamental right.
Albert Aheebwa, Speaker of Fort Portal City, expressed appreciation for Stanbic Bank’s ongoing support, especially during Customer Love Month, noting the bank’s role in improving healthcare standards, particularly given the hospital’s influx of patients from regions as far as eastern DRC.
Dr. Kalisa Oscar, Acting Hospital Director, highlighted the urgent need for wheelchairs, especially in the outpatient department, where 40% of casualties are bodaboda riders. He thanked the bank for its contribution to patient care and mobility.
Additionally, the team visited Rusekere Secondary School in Kabarole district, donating another 10,000-liter tank to provide safe drinking water for students and teachers who previously relied on valley dams.
