Kitgum: A 47-year-old woman has died due to severe pains and injuries sustained from a domestic altercation with her husband.
The deceased, identified as Acan Ventorina from Masese Village in Namokora North Sub County, Kitgum District, died over the weekend after a domestic altercation with her husband a week ago.
According to Walter Obalim, the Gombolola Internal Security Officer (GISO) for Namokora North Subcounty, the altercation involved Amone David, a man believed to be in his 50s, who fought with his wife at Abunai farmland a week ago, resulting in significant injuries to her.
Obalim reported that family members intervened and took Acan Ventorina to Namokora Health Center IV, where she was later referred to Kitgum General Hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries over the weekend.
The GISO confirmed that Amone David is currently at large.
Additionally, he mentioned that clan elders from Pabala in Namokora and Bobi from Mucwini are involved in mediation and reconciliation efforts, aiming to address the situation in accordance with cultural practices.
