TERRIBLE! Mysterious fire burns 27 houses in Arua

Arua: A devastating fire has ravaged 27 houses in Nunu Cell, Anzuu Ward, Ayivu West Division of Arua City.
The incident unfolded on Wednesday, April 10, 2024, around 3:00 am, one of the houses in the area caught fire, but the community didn’t pay much attention.
On Thursday, April 11, 2024, they witnessed another house catching fire around 9:00 a.m., yet still, little attention was given.
The situation escalated on the morning of Friday, April 12, 2024, at approximately 10:00 a.m. when several houses started burning at different intervals.
The area chairman promptly reported the matter to the Odramacaku police post on Friday morning.
Josephine Angucia, the West Nile Regional Police Spokesperson, confirmed the incident and said, despite the efforts of the regional fire and rescue team, they couldn’t halt the fire outbreak due to its mysterious nature, which occurred in different places.
The police officers from Ayivu West Police Division visited the scene, documented it, and initiated a General Enquiry File (number 02/2024) to investigate the circumstances surrounding the fire outbreak.
Statements were recorded from affected victims, revealing that 27 houses had already been consumed by the flames.
Most residents managed to remove their belongings from their houses, while others tragically lost theirs.
The roofs of most houses were destroyed, and doors were removed.
The affected individuals primarily belonged to the Nunu clan, although a few non-Nunu clan members who had purchased land there were also impacted.
The aftermath of this fire leaves a community grappling with loss and uncertainty.
