37 applicants in Buliisa shortlisted for police interviews

This recruitment drive comes as Uganda gears up for the 2026 general elections.

Buliisa: A total of 37 applicants from Buliisa District have successfully been shortlisted for interviews for the position of Probation Police Constable, according to the Uganda Police Force’s latest announcement.

The interviews are set to take place across the country starting April 28, 2025, with Buliisa District interviews scheduled for April 29 at Buliisa Police Station, located in Buliisa Town Council.

In an interview with this publication, Mr. Micheal Tayebwa, the Buliisa District Police Commander, revealed that over 60 candidates had applied from the district, with 37 making it to the interview stage.

Meanwhile, Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIGP) Jesse Kamunanwire, the Director of Human Resource Management, emphasized that the recruitment process is entirely free of charge and cautioned the public against individuals soliciting bribes in the name of securing placements.

This recruitment drive comes as Uganda gears up for the 2026 general elections, highlighting the importance of strengthening security personnel at the grassroots level.
