Hoima: In Hoima, Uganda, a tragic incident unfolded at Lion’s Junior School in Kinubi, Hoima City.
An 11-year-old girl was subjected to a horrifying experience when she was defiled around 2 a.m on April 2, 2024.
The alleged perpetrator gained access to the girls’ dormitory, which had not been locked, and assaulted the minor.
Julius Allan Hakiza, the Albertine Regional Police Spokesperson, revealed that four school staff members have been apprehended in connection with this heinous crime.
The arrested individuals include the school director, matron, head teacher, and the askari.
Disturbingly, the school administration failed to promptly report the incident to the police or inform the victim’s parents.
It was only after a concerned citizen informed the parents that the matter came to light.
Hakiza says the case has now been submitted to the Hoima Resident State Attorney for further action.
