SAD! Road worker collapses dead in Buliisa
The deceased didn’t have any health complications.
Buliisa: Workers of STC Company, the company tarmacking Biiso-Masindi Road, were left in shock after their colleague collapsed and died instantly while at work.
The 28-year-old Godfrey Manano, a resident of Bulyango 1 cell Kibwana Ward Karujubu division Masindi Municipality, was a motor vehicle mechanic at the above road construction company.
Manano, who had just been employed, died on Sunday, March 24, 2024, at around 12 p.m. at the stone quarry site in Kansimo Village, Kihungya, Sub-County Buliisa District.
The STC Company Safety Officer, Jonathan, disclosed that the sudden death of their worker occurred immediately after having lunch.
Jonathan stressed that the deceased was discovered by their colleagues when he was repairing a truck that had a breakdown.
‘’He was discovered by the colleagues when he was repairing the truck that had a breakdown; he died shortly after having lunch,’’ he added.
Fred Mateso, the deceased’s relative, also got the information after receiving a phone call from one of the deceased’s co-workers, who used the deceased’s phone to alert them to the issue.
‘’One of the co-workers contacted us using the deceased’s phone to say that he had passed away.’’
Mateso told ugreports.co.ug that the deceased didn’t have any health complications; however, they are waiting for a postmortem report.
Julius Allan Hakiza, the Albertine Regional Police Spokesperson, confirmed the incident and said they have commenced the investigations.
By the time we published this story, the body of the deceased was still at Biiso Health Center IV, pending a postmortem.
