Three arrested for killing suspected thief in Kikuube

Kikuube: Police in Kikuube district are holding three suspects for allegedly lynching to death a yet-to-be identified suspected motorcycle thief.
Julius Allan Hakiza, the Albertine Regional Police Spokesperson, disclosed that the boda boda riders from Kakumiro side, in conjunction with boda boda riders in Kikuube district, intercepted a suspected motorcycle thief.
The suspect is believed to be a resident of Kakumiro in Musaija-Mukuru East village.
Hakiza said they have arrested three people to aid them in their investigation, while the body of the deceased has been taken to Kikuube Health Center IV Mortuary for a postmortem and identification.
He added that when police arrived at the scene, the motorcycle had already been taken away by the suspected owner.
In related development, Kibaale district are investigating the circumstances under which Gerald Kibeedi, 45, a resident of Kineka village in Bubango Sub County, was murdered.
Hakiza explained that it was on the 10th of this month in Kibanda village in Kigunju where the deceased was attacked by four assailants, was cut in the stomach by a sharp object, and ran away.
He said the deceased made an alarm and was rescued by one Watsa Atugonza, who reported to the police and rushed to Kibaale Health Center IV, where he was pronounced dead.
The regional police mouthpiece added they have two suspects in their custody to aid police with investigations.
