Masindi man beaten to death for allegedly killing lover
They took him to the chairman of the area, where an angry mob came and beat him to death.
Masindi: Police in Masindi are investigating the circumstances under which Joyce Adyeyo, 40, a resident of Kibamba village, Kyakamese Parish, Pakanyi subcounty in Masindi district, was murdered.
Julius Allan Hakiza, the Albertine Regional Police Spokesperson, told this publication that on Sunday, March 3, 2024, two men, only identified as Ambrose and Mulongo, met at Adyeyo’s house.
Hakiza added that Ambrose had gone to pay a visit to his girlfriend, Adyeyo, who is now deceased, and found Mulongo in the house already.
This prompted the duo to pick a quarrel and start fighting.
According to Hakiza, Mulongo cut Ambrose on the hand during the fight, and immediately after, they both left the scene at around 2 a.m. in the wee hours of the morning.
At around 8:00 a.m. on Monday, Ambrose was arrested by the community after realizing that Joyce Adyeyo was dead. They took him to the chairman of the area, where an angry mob came and beat him to death.
The regional police mouthpiece asserts that Mulongo has been arrested to help police with the investigations.
