Missing Hoima man found dead in his house
Police say further investigations are underway to establish the exact cause of death.
Hoima: Police in Hoima City have launched investigations into the death of a man who was found dead in his house in Businsi, under unclear circumstances.
The deceased has been identified as Enock Naamara, a former student of God’s Mercy High School in Kikonda.
According to SP Julius Allan Hakiza, the Albertine South Regional Police Spokesperson, Naamara reportedly went missing on October 30, 2026, prompting neighbours to alert his father.
Hakiza says the father subsequently broke into the house, only to find his son dead on his bed.
Preliminary police investigations indicate that a charcoal stove containing charcoal was found inside the room, raising suspicion that Naamara could have died from suffocation due to suspected carbon monoxide poisoning. The room reportedly had inadequate ventilation.
Police say further investigations are underway to establish the exact cause of death.
Meanwhile, police have identified two suspects in connection with the murder of Kisembo Arnold, a 36-year-old boda boda rider whose body was discovered dumped along a roadside in Katasiha Fort Cell, Kyesiga Ward, Hoima West Division, on October 30, 2026.
The suspects have been identified as Deo Akugizibwe and Johnbosco Aliganyira, alias Kanyankole, aged 32, who is also a boda boda rider. Both are residents of Hoima City.
SP Hakiza says the two were arrested after Akugizibwe reportedly confessed to participating in the murder, revealing that three people were involved in killing Kisembo and stealing his motorcycle.
Police are now pursuing a third suspect who is still on the run.
Hakiza has appealed to members of the public with information that could lead to the arrest of the remaining suspect to report to the nearest police station.
The arrests follow the discovery of two bodies dumped along roadsides in Katasiha Fort Cell within two days.
The other victim was identified as Owek Moses, a 36-year-old businessman dealing in bananas, whose body was discovered on October 29, 2026. He was later buried in Kitoba, while Kisembo was buried in Kibanjwa.
Police say investigations are ongoing to establish whether the suspects were also involved in the murder of Moses.
Hakiza says detectives are pursuing all possible leads to establish the circumstances surrounding the two killings and bring everyone involved to justice.
