Bishop Kugonza challenges Christians to live Godly lives
He said a Christian’s lifestyle, including how they dress, walk and relate with others, reflects their commitment to God.

Masindi: The Bishop of Masindi-Kitara Diocese, Rt. Rev. Joshua Kugonza, has challenged Christians to shun worldly pleasures and embrace godly living, saying true Christianity is reflected in one’s daily conduct.
Bishop Kugonza made the call on Tuesday while presiding over a confirmation and dedication service for Primary Seven candidates at Divine Nursery and Primary School in Masindi.
During the service, the bishop confirmed 27 pupils and a teacher into the Anglican faith and dedicated 60 Primary Seven candidates ahead of their 2026 Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE).
Addressing the newly confirmed Christians, Bishop Kugonza emphasized that being a Christian goes beyond confirmation or attending Sunday prayers, noting that believers must demonstrate their faith through their actions and behaviour.
He said a Christian’s lifestyle, including how they dress, walk and relate with others, reflects their commitment to God.
The bishop cautioned the newly confirmed Christians against indiscipline and sinful behaviour, including adultery, theft and abusive language.
He urged them to respect their parents, teachers and other members of the community while upholding Christian values in their daily lives.
Bishop Kugonza also challenged the Primary Seven candidates to work hard and prepare adequately for their forthcoming examinations.
He noted that parents and teachers had already played their part by paying school fees and providing education, urging the candidates to reciprocate these efforts through hard work and good academic performance.
Meanwhile, Andrew Kasigwa, the Director of Divine Nursery and Primary School, said it was the first time the institution had hosted the bishop.
Kasigwa appealed to parents to continue supporting the school, saying teachers had done their part in preparing the learners for the examinations.
He urged the candidates to demonstrate their readiness by producing good results.
Some of the Primary Seven candidates who spoke to our reporter said they felt adequately prepared for the examinations and were optimistic about attaining good grades.
The 2026 Primary Leaving Examinations are scheduled for November 3 and 4.
