Bushenyi Mobilised as Mawanda, Basajjabalaba and Eng. Asiimwe Prepare for Museveni’s Visit

BUSHENYI, Uganda – Leaders of the National Resistance Movement (NRM) in Bushenyi District on Monday convened a high-level delegates’ meeting to prepare for President Yoweri Museveni’s forthcoming visit to the area.

The meeting was attended by Hon. Mawanda Michael Maranga, the Igara East County MP and Director for Mobilisation in the Patriotic League of Uganda, alongside key NRM leaders including Hajji Hassan Basajjabalaba, the NRM Bushenyi District Chairperson and CEC representative for the Entrepreneurs League; Eng. Jonard Asiimwe Akiiki, the NRM National Vice Chairman for Western Region; and Hon. Adrine Kobusingye, the CEC representative for women.

During the session, Eng. Asiimwe addressed issues relating to party unity and discipline, urging members to embrace reconciliation and work together to strengthen party cohesion ahead of the President’s visit.

He officially endorsed the NRM parliamentary flagbearers in Bushenyi District and called on all supporters to rally firmly behind the party’s official candidates.

“Without our flagbearers in Parliament, we are a weak party. Supporting the party flag is the true meaning of being an NRM member,” Asiimwe emphasized.

He also reminded residents to continue supporting President Museveni and prepare to welcome him in large numbers during his visit.

Eng. Asiimwe issued a stern warning to NRM leaders who hold positions within the party but continue to support independent or opposition candidates, saying such actions undermine party strength and will attract disciplinary measures.
