Alur music legend Nyatesu passes away

Zombo: The Alur music scene and beyond are reeling from the tragic loss of iconic artist and media personality Willy Musoke, known to fans as Willy Paa Nyatesu International, who passed away on the morning of Tuesday, July 29, 2025.
News of his death has sparked an outpouring of tributes and discussions across social media platforms in the Alur Sub-region and far beyond.
Based in Paidha Town Council, the celebrated performer was a household name not only for his music but also for his vibrant presence in the media world during the late 1990s and early 2000s.
Musoke had a brief stint at Paidha FM before making waves at Radio North FM in the Lango Sub-region, cementing his reputation as a multifaceted entertainer.
According to Innocent Godfred Onega, LCIII Chairperson of Paidha Town Council and a close relative, the star believed to be in his 40s tragically passed away due to undisclosed medical complications while en route to Goli Health Centre IV for treatment.
“We are devastated by the loss of our brother,” Onega shared. “He was an icon in our community, and his passing leaves a huge void.”
The exact cause of Musoke’s illness remains unknown, Onega added.
A farewell for the legend is scheduled for Wednesday, July 30, 2025, at 1:00 PM, at his family home in Jupalango, Zingili Ward, Paidha Town Council, Zombo District.
Veteran radio personality Slot Wolenga reflected on Musoke’s impact, recalling his rise to fame with chart-topping hits such as “Adimudong” and “Ngamudongu Ngom Calu UJANGA,” the latter dedicated to former Okoro County MP and State Minister for Energy, Eng. Simon D’Ujanga. Musoke’s music struck a chord with fans across the region.
In recent years, Musoke transitioned into business, launching Quarter Guard, a popular entertainment hub along Ofaka Road in Paidha. The venue became a go-to spot for live performances and community events, showcasing his commitment to nurturing local talent.
Burial arrangements are underway, with the central organizing committee convening at Quarter Guard.
As of press time, hundreds including members of the business community, relatives, fellow artists, and fans had gathered at the venue to honor the late star and coordinate a fitting send-off.
Many local entertainers, particularly from Paidha Town Council, expressed deep sorrow, saying that Willy Paa Nyatesu International’s legacy will live on through his music, media work, and the vibrant entertainment scene he helped build.
