By the time of reporting, traffic police had not yet arrived at the scene, and recovery efforts were yet to begin.

Zombo: A Fuso truck transporting traders mostly women from Paidha Town Council and surrounding areas overturned Thursday night at Ayuda Hill, Thanga Parish, Abanga Sub-county, leaving several people injured.

The accident occurred on July 24, 2025, at around 8:00 PM, as the traders were returning from the Awasi weekly market in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).

According to eyewitnesses, two pregnant women were critically injured in the incident and rushed to nearby medical facilities for emergency treatment.

Several others sustained varying degrees of injury, though no fatalities had been confirmed as of press time.

Eyewitness accounts suggest the truck overturned while attempting to maneuver around a stationary vehicle undergoing repairs on a steep incline.

Others blamed the crash on the deteriorating condition of the road, which has long been a concern for both residents and road users in the area.

This publication observed significant cargo damage, with goods scattered across the crash site, leaving many traders stranded and distressed.

The road remains impassable, and traffic to and from DRC is currently at a standstill.

By the time of reporting, traffic police had not yet arrived at the scene, and recovery efforts were yet to begin.

This is a developing story and will be updated as more information becomes available.
