Manafwa: Saturday, July 5, 2025 marked the third day of the NRM joint campaigns in Manafwa District, with activities stretching across Bukoma Subcounty, Bubwaya Town Council, and Bukusu Subcounty.

The highlight of the day was undoubtedly Hon. Annett Musibikha’s electrifying homecoming rally, which drew massive crowds and widespread enthusiasm.

Supporters gathered in large numbers, chanting her name and waving campaign posters, while others symbolically donated hens continuing a growing tradition that has seen her receive hens at every rally over the past three days. The gesture underscored the community’s deep affection and unwavering support for Musibikha.

Her rallying message centered around hope, empowerment, and development struck a powerful chord with the electorate. Voters expressed optimism about her vision, particularly her commitment to wealth creation, household income improvement, healthcare access, and the empowerment of women, youth, and marginalized groups.

In sharp contrast, the appearance of incumbent Woman MP Hon. Gorret Kitutu was met with hostility. Attendees jeered her and demanded accountability for her term in office demands she struggled to satisfy.

The visible frustration and rejection from the crowd reflected growing disillusionment with her leadership.

Musibikha’s rising popularity and strong grassroots support signal a dramatic shift in the political landscape of Manafwa. Her campaign has gained significant momentum and she now poses a serious challenge to the incumbent.

As the campaign trail heats up, all eyes are on Musibikha. Will her growing support and message of change be enough to unseat the incumbent? Only time will tell.

For now, one thing is certain Musibikha’s homecoming has re-energized the district, and her candidacy is shaping up to be one of the most dynamic forces in the upcoming elections.
