Kabarole: Kabarole District Chairperson, Dr. Richard Rwabuhinga, has issued a strong condemnation of imposters extorting money from job seekers by falsely promising them government employment opportunities.
Speaking during the 2025 Accountability Conference held Monday at the new district headquarters in Busoro Sub-county, Dr. Rwabuhinga warned the public against falling victim to individuals claiming to have influence in government offices.
“These fraudsters have been collecting money from job applicants under the pretense of securing them government jobs, claiming to be sent by district or state authorities. Let it be known these are criminals. We are actively working with security agencies to track them down,” he said.
Rwabuhinga named individuals allegedly involved in the scam, although UG Reports could not independently verify the claims at the time of reporting.
Currently contesting for the Burahya County parliamentary seat, Dr. Rwabuhinga emphasized that his administration continues to uphold a zero-tolerance policy toward corruption.
He cited recent anti-corruption agency findings that recognized Kabarole District as free from major corruption-related scandals.

“Our administration remains committed to clean leadership, and we shall not allow criminal behavior to undermine the trust and integrity we’ve built,” he added.
Saleh Kamba, the Resident District Commissioner (RDC) of Kabarole, applauded the district leadership for fostering transparency and openness. He noted that Kabarole remains the only district in the region to organize a public accountability conference, showcasing the utilization of public funds.
“This level of transparency builds community trust and is crucial for effective service delivery,” Kamba stated, urging other districts to adopt similar initiatives.
William Kasoro, LCV Chairperson of neighboring Ntoroko District, also commended Dr. Rwabuhinga’s leadership, highlighting his dedication to good governance and accountability.

“Transparency and accountability are the foundation of strong public administration, and Kabarole is leading by example,” Kasoro remarked.
The accountability conference brought together a wide array of stakeholders, including political leaders, religious and cultural representatives, civil society organizations, and local opinion leaders from across Kabarole District. The gathering served as a platform to promote openness, public engagement, and responsible governance.
