Kinyara Sugar Ltd donates Shs10M for Empango
He praised the warm and supportive relationship between Kinyara Sugar Ltd and the people of Bunyoro-Kitara.

Hoima: Kinyara Sugar Ltd has extended its continued support to the Bunyoro-Kitara Kingdom by donating Shs10 million towards the 31st Coronation Anniversary (Empango) of His Royal Majesty Dr. Solomon Gafabusa Iguru I, the Omukama of Bunyoro-Kitara.
The main celebrations are scheduled to take place on June 11, 2025, at the Kingdom’s Parliamentary Gardens.
The donation was officially announced during a courtesy visit to the Kingdom’s Prime Minister Owek. Andrew Byakutaga Ateenyi at the BKK offices. Kinyara Sugar Ltd CEO, Mr. Ravi Ramalingam, led the company delegation, accompanied by Agriculture Manager Mr. Senthil Kumar and Public Relations Officer Mr. Francis Mugerwa.
Mr. Ramalingam praised the warm and supportive relationship between Kinyara Sugar Ltd and the people of Bunyoro-Kitara.
“We are honored to support the King’s Coronation Anniversary celebrations. On behalf of our Board, Management, and Staff, we wish the Kingdom peaceful and colorful celebrations,” he said.
He reaffirmed the company’s commitment to the Kingdom and its cultural institutions, describing the Empango celebration as a vital part of the region’s identity and unity.
Prime Minister Byakutaga expressed gratitude for the generous donation, noting that Kinyara Sugar Ltd remains a reliable and consistent partner in the Kingdom’s annual events.
“Kinyara is not only a cultural partner but a key player in the socio-economic transformation of Bunyoro through employment, business opportunities, and CSR initiatives,” the Prime Minister said.
He also commended the company’s efforts in community development and handed over Royal Running Kits to the delegation. The kits will be used in the upcoming Empango Marathon, set for Saturday, June 7, 2025. He encouraged Kinyara staff to take part in the event.
Speaking to the media, Public Relations Officer Mr. Francis Mugerwa emphasized that culture is one of Kinyara’s CSR priorities.
“We already have a cordial working relationship with BKK and the people of Bunyoro-Kitara. Our presence here is to further strengthen that bond for mutual benefit,” Mugerwa stated.
He confirmed that company staff will participate not only in the Royal Marathon but also in other activities organized to mark the 31st Coronation Anniversary of His Royal Majesty.
