WENRECo upgrades prepaid meters

The community has been asked to cooperate and support meter upgrades.

Arua: West Nile Rural Electrification Company (WENRECo) Limited has started the program of upgrading all prepaid meters.

The upgrade is in line with the ministry of energy‘s mandate to upgrade all the prepaid meters before November this year.

Speaking to this publication, Judith Wangoic, the public relations officer at WENRECo, says the upgrade is totally free and does not involve movement for the officers.

‘’The upgrade is totally free and does not involve movement for the officers,’’ she adds.

She says that upon the purchase of the token, the customer will receive three tokens, whereby the first and second tokens will be for the meter upgrade and the third token for the units.

Wangoic says the pilot study has been done in areas of transport roads within Arua City, which has yielded positive results.

The program is currently being rolled out in the districts of Zombo, Nebbi, Pakwach, Koboko, and Yumbe, where they will finalize it with greater Arua.

The community has been asked to cooperate and support meter upgrades.

She says the upgrade will benefit the customers and help monitor the vending system and accuracy during the purchase of the units.
